The new episode features host Ray Kaderli of Texas-based Hemp Build Network interviewing Melissa Nelson, a pioneering Kansas-based crop scientist and co-owner of South Bend Industrial Hemp to show how the fiber-based industrial hemp supply chain is developed for building-grade hurd.

Nelson said SBIH has contacted 12,000 acres of industrial hemp for 2026. About 45 % of hemp fiber processed ends up as building grade, with low dust and high clean fiber content.

“Architects are looking to renew their continuing ed credits at the end of the year, and we want to give them something in a new format new to acquire their credits,” said Kaderli.
