Hemp Homes Exceed Performance Expectations
I am intrigued by hemp-lime's versatility in building, its forgiving nature, and easy repairability. We build homes in harsh climates above 5000' elevation and fire-danger zones. Our clients report that their homes' performance exceeds expectations. I continue to be fascinated by hemp-lime's thermal and hygroscopic capabilities.
This year we completed our first full Hemplime Block build in Santa Fe New Mexico. We also supplied blocks to a few other builders who completed other Hemplime Block projects as well.
What bottlenecks have you observed in the natural building industry and how would you solve them?
It all starts with the farmers and processors. If the USA could implement secondary processing to market the fiber, processors wouldn't have to rely so much on the hurd for revenue and the price for US grown hurd could hopefully come down.
