Workshop Details & Schedule
NWLLCC & Whatcom Waves are hosting their 3rd annual Hempcrete construction Workshop in July 2026 during the Pacific Northwest Climate Week! There are two registration options - a Hempcrete seminar, Q&A, & Networking Reception the evening of the Friday the 17th or a three day education and hand-on experience July 17th, 18th and 19th (which includes the seminar).
July 17th
Welcome reception & seminar with Suneeta & Michael, Micaela & Pam, Q&A and networking reception with food and refreshments. Seminar and reception address will be given to those who have registered.
Friday 5:30pm-8:30pm with the option of touring Pam Bosch's Highland Hemp House from 8:00-9:30pm.
July 18th
First day of hands on experience working with hempcrete & plastering. Workshop begins at 10am, break for lunch, back to hands-on learning, working & participation. We will be providing a detailed agenda with transportation and/or carpooling arrangement after registration closes.
Coffee, tea, water and snacks provided throughout the day.
July 19th
Open House Day and last opportunity for hands on learning & experience. This day will be more free-flowing, but will include some opportunities to do more plastering and hempcrete. Come & go as you please. The space will open at 10am and close at 2:30pm.
FAQ
How much does it cost? We have two options: The three day weekend workshop with meals is $350 or you can register just the information seminar on Friday, July 25th for $75. Where is the workshop located? We are in Bellingham, WA. Our address will be provided upon registration and workshop fee.
What if I just want to learn more about Hempcrete Building? We have a $75 option for just attending the seminar, Q&A and networking reception on Friday the 25th.
Do I need to bring anything with me to the workshop? We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle and something for taking notes. Lime has a high pH that can cause skin burns. We will provide safety glasses and gloves if you need them, but please bring clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and protect your skin, long sleeves and pant are highly encouaraged.
Is lodging provided? We have a discounted room block with the Hampton Inn that is 1.5 miles away from the workshop space. After Registration, you will get more details on this lodging option.
